Art, Architecture and Design offers a choice of six minor programs open to all students across the university. Minors enable students to establish focused expertise in a field of study at a lower course load, complement their major program of study with a secondary area of interest, and build the domain experience that enhances success and outcomes after graduation.
Minors consist of 5 courses. Students begin their studies with two required courses and select three additional courses at the intermediate level. Our minor programs are self-directed and after declaring their minor, students are independently responsible for ensuring they complete their requirements before graduation. The department does not offer individual advising or approve course substitutions for minors.
Our minor programs are particularly popular among majors in Biology, Economics, Journalism, Marketing, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial and Systems Engineering, which are complementary fields of study that have direct adjacencies to the majors and minors of Art, Architecture and Design.
