The programs and curriculum of Art, Architecture and Design are open to all Lehigh students interested in pursuing an education in the arts, whether by taking individual courses in the department or by declaring a major or minor. The department offers B.A. degrees in Art, Architecture, Design, and Art History, and the Design major has a choice of concentrations in Graphic Design and Product Design. We offer multiple minor programs accessible to students across the university.
Experiential learning is a signature of the Art, Architecture and Design education, and students have multiple opportunities to take the skills they learn in the classroom and apply them in real-world settings. This includes Capstone, Honors Project, and Fusion: Design Practice courses that enable students to pursue impactful research in collaboration with industry and community partners, as well as our popular summer and winter study abroad programs in Munich and Sicily.
We encourage students to build domain experience that enhances success and outcomes after graduation. Our curriculum is flexible and allows for students to pursue double majors, dual degrees, and minors in other areas that complement their field of study. This includes Lehigh’s Integrated Degree in Engineering, Arts and Sciences (IDEAS) and Arts Engineering dual degree, as well as minor programs in Earth and Environmental Science, Marketing, Mechanics of Materials, Real Estate, and other related fields.
